The rehabilitation nurse provides care to patients with chronic illness, acute injury, and disabilities while focusing on goal achievement, community re-entry, and maximization of functional capabilities. The rehabilitation nursing team focuses on the following components during hospital admission:

  • Assesses and continuously monitors your needs on a 24-hour basis
  • Treats complications
  • Reinforces therapeutic instruction and activity
  • Educates the patient and family on medication administration, bowel and bladder management, and skin care
  • Manages pain
